How are artificial intelligence and robotic technologies dramatically changing the face of warfare and imperial control? The recently-developed Gorgon Stare, or the nine-camera, wide-area video surveillance system built for U.S. drones, captures so much data that new artificial intelligence systems must be developed in order to process it. Ashley Dawson’s work explores the ethical and philosophical implications of technology that attempts total control and surveillance of cities. (Sorry about the strange cropping, Gorgon technology is not yet available to amateurs!)
